For A2 media we have been asked to produce 3 ideas for flat plans consulting our digipack. I have constructed three sketches of what I think would be good ideas for the task. Within the three flat plans there are pictures within different sketches that I want to use. These drawings are marked.
Flat plan 1
As you can see on this flat plan there are two pictures that i have decided to use in my final digipack, these are the front and inside covers. The reasons that I have used thes pictues are because they closly relate back to the general theme of the video and they are nice shots of where the scene will be shot and of the singer. However the reasons that i have not used the other two shots are due to the fact that they not only dont really follow with the theme of my video but they are also far to simple and easy to produce, therefore giving the impression that my skills of inDesign are at a low standard for this task.
Flat plan 2
For this flat plan I have decided not to use any of the pictures shown. This is due to the problem that was presented of having made three different flat plans; the bottom left picture was a possibility for the back cover. The main reason that I decided to go with another shot is due to the fact that while it does relate to my video the amount of relevance and identification values it held were low. Fr this reason I have decided to use a shot from the next flat plan.
Flat plan 3
My final flat plan consists of the final two shots that i will be using for my digipack. The two shots labled are the CD Front (where the CD will be held), and the back cover. I have used these two shots for a number of reasons, while thinking about how relevent and the identification values it has, identification values are extramly important when concidering impuls buying within stores, where the customer will imediatly recognise a shot from the video and therefor buy the CD. I chose th back cover as it shows a nice shot of the scene and the video set, this is the same for the CD front.
After some time in Photoshop i have managed to construct what i belive to be the final, compleated flat plan involving all of the shots that will be used on one flat plan.
Final Flat plan
However after compleating the flat plans it was clear that there was not efficient information on the covers to advertise release and other important information. Therefore on the final Digipack there will be more information on the back cover and possibly the front cover too.
